As South Africa accelerates its transition to renewable energy, one qualification has become essential to powering the country’s green skills revolution: the Solar PV Technician. But a qualification is only as strong as the learning materials that shape it — materials that must be technically accurate, industry aligned, and accessible to learners entering a fast growing field.

To bring this qualification to life, SARETEC and the Cape Town Department of Economic Development and Tourism (DEDAT) partnered with VTTV to design and develop the complete suite of learning materials that would train the next generation of Solar PV technicians.

This collaboration represents a milestone in South Africa’s renewable energy skills development — and VTTV is proud to have played a foundational role.

The National Home Builders Registration Council (NHBRC) plays a critical role in South Africa’s construction landscape — protecting consumers, strengthening building quality, and ensuring that every home built in the country meets national standards.

To support this mission, the NHBRC needed learning materials and assessments that were modern, practical, and aligned with the realities of today’s home‑building environment.

To meet these demands, the Local Government SETA (LGSETA) needed high-quality, industry-aligned qualifications that could prepare learners for the real challenges facing local government today.
